The service

What the agent does with your link

OrientDig is a shopping agent, sometimes called a buying agent or a forwarder. Its own description is a hassle free way to buy from large Chinese marketplaces, and it names JD, Taobao, 1688 and Weidian. Its footer carries the line Copyright 2012 to 2025 orientdig.com.

The reason agents exist is dull and practical. Most sellers on those marketplaces ship domestically only, many will not take a foreign card, and the listings are in Chinese. An agent gives you a Chinese buyer, a Chinese delivery address and a single English checkout.

What it does not do is find things for you. That part happens on a finds page, and which category you start in decides how forgiving your first order is.

What it actually does with your order

Five stages, and only the first two involve you. You find the item and hand over the link. After that the agent buys it, the warehouse receives and inspects it, and a courier moves it. The one point in the middle where you get a real say is the QC photos, because that is the only time anyone shows you the physical item before it is sealed in a box.

Ordering, and what you pay at each stage, is covered on the ordering page.

What the official site shows you first

The home page is built around one input. You paste a product link or type a name, and everything else follows from that. The three labels under the search box are the agent describing its own flow: place orders, submit parcels, sign delivery.

Honest version

What every agent does the same way

Before the marketing, it is worth knowing which parts are not a differentiator at all. If two agents both do the things on the left, those are not reasons to pick one over the other.

The same at every agent

  • Buying from Taobao, Weidian and 1688 on your behalf
  • Receiving goods at a Chinese warehouse
  • Combining several sellers into one outgoing parcel
  • Offering a set of third-party courier lines
  • Showing photos of the goods before they ship

Where agents genuinely differ

  • How many photos you get, and whether extra ones cost anything
  • How long goods can sit in the warehouse before storage rules apply
  • Which courier lines are available to your country
  • How fast a human answers when something is wrong
  • What happens when an item arrives damaged or wrong

The QC step is the one moment in the process where you see the real object.

Why choose OrientDig, and what that rests on

Having said what every agent does identically, here is the part that is specific to this one. All four are things OrientDig lists about itself, so read them as its claims rather than as our findings. We have not measured any of them, and the honest way to test them is a small first order.

Unlimited QC images

The home page lists unlimited QC images among its features, on top of the free HD QC pictures it describes elsewhere. Photographs are the only evidence you get before a parcel is sealed, so how many you can have is a real difference rather than a slogan.

Split orders

Listed alongside consolidation. Being able to split as well as combine matters when part of an order is ready and the rest is not, or when one item is restricted on the line you wanted.

clock icon

Extended free storage

Described as extra long free storage time, without a number attached. We are not going to invent one. Check the current terms on the official site, because this is exactly the sort of policy that changes.

Its own lines plus third-party ones

The estimator page distinguishes OrientDig proprietary lines from third party ones, and says third party providers adjust their prices with the market. More lines means more chance one of them suits your country and your parcel.

What OrientDig states about its own service

These are claims from the official site, quoted rather than endorsed. We have not measured any of them, and we do not publish timings of our own.

  • Orders are typically fulfilled within 24 hours of payment.
  • Goods are inspected on arrival at the warehouse, with free HD QC pictures.
  • Returns and refunds go through your order agent, and only before the item leaves the warehouse for international shipment.
  • Packages are sent out within 3 to 5 working days once the freight fee is settled.
  • Multiple payment methods, split orders and extended free storage are listed as features, without numbers attached.

All five quoted from the OrientDig home page and its Q and A block, read 4 August 2026. Policies change; check the official page before you rely on any of them.

When an agent is the wrong tool

A guide that only tells you to use the thing it links to is an advertisement. Here is the part that argues the other way.

Skip the agent

The item has a local warehouse

Plenty of Chinese brands now stock in Europe and North America. If the same item ships domestically to you, an agent adds a leg of freight and a wait for nothing.

Skip the agent

You need it this week

Agent orders move at the speed of the slowest stage. If a date matters, buy locally and use the agent for things that can wait.

Use an agent

The seller ships inside China only

This is the case agents were built for, and there is no sensible way around it.

Use an agent

You want several sellers in one box

Consolidation is the one part of the service that reliably changes what you pay, because it turns several first-weight charges into one.

If you decide to go ahead

You need an account before you can submit anything, and the DIY order page sits behind a login. Registration and account activation is one of the three articles OrientDig pins to the top of its help centre, which tells you how often people get stuck there.

Once you are in, the next question is which find to spend the freight on. That is what the rest of this guide is about.
